Last year, Jacques Whitford was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2007. This year, Maclean’s magazine has announced we will once again be receiving the same honour for our dedication and commitment to offering the best to our employees. Now in its 9th year, the Canada's Top 100 Employers program is a national competition to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.

Jacques Whitford has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Family-Friendly Employers by Today’s Parent magazine. The December issue of the magazine features a Jacques Whitford employee, highlighting the programs and benefits the company offers to assist employees with families and young children. The magazine’s selection criteria include: maternity top-ups, flexible work arrangements, compassionate care leaves and other benefits that help employees balance work and family commitments.

The Financial Post listed Jacques Whitford among their Ten Best Companies to Work For in 2007. The featured companies were recognized for their progressive human resource practices, as well as their successful business stories.The Financial Post is the business section of the Toronto National Post newspaper. It is a partner on the Canada's Top 100 Employers project and publishes a special editorial section announcing the Ten Best Companies to Work For each fall.

Jacques Whitford is among the Maritime's Top Ten Employers for 2007, featured in Halifax’s Chronicle Herald. The Top Ten article appeared in the newspaper’s October 14th edition and highlighted progressive parental leave, fitness subsidy and the availability of a nurse practitioner for staff check-ups as some of the reasons why Jacques Whitford is one of the best.

The annual report, featured in the October 16, 2006 issue of Maclean’s magazine, recognizes employers across the country with commendable workplace environments. The report is made available by Mediacorp Canada Inc., a publisher that specializes in employment-related issues, and is developed by analyzing some key areas including health, financial and family benefits, vacation and time off, and community involvement.

Hector Jacques, co-founder of Jacques Whitford and Chair of the Board of Directors, was presented with OTANS' Petroleum Pioneer Award during the Pioneer Dinner on Tuesday, October 3rd. The dinner was held in conjunction with the Canadian Offshore Resources Exhibition (CORE) and Conference at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This award honours individuals or organizations that have made an outstanding contribution to the development of the Nova Scotia petroleum industry. Hector Jacques served as President and Chief Executive Officer from the firm’s inception in 1972 until 2003, leading the company through remarkable growth for over 30 years.

Jacques Whitford offices in Alberta were presented with a Work Safe Alberta - Best Safety Performer Award. This is the second year in a row that the three Alberta offices received the award which recognizes employers with exceptional performance in workplace health and safety.

The Award was based primarily on the recent growth of our business in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Over the last year, our Middle East operations have increased their revenue by over 350%.

Jacques Whitford won the 2005 Canadian Consulting Engineering Award of Excellence for the remediation project of Sungai Bera Holding basins, Brunei. It was recognized by a panel of Canadian engineers as a significant technical and managerial achievement.

Jacques Whitford (Saint John) was awarded The Annual CENB (Consulting Engineers of New Brunswick) Showcase Award for Technical Excellence. This award recognized a project involving the design of an oily water treatment facility for Acadia Petroleum Waste Management in the Dieppe Industrial Park.

Jacques Whitford (Edmonton) won the National Pinnacle Award for Innovation from BOMA (Building Operators and Managers Association) for the development of eRealVantage to assist large real estate portfolio owners to manage environmental issues on their properties.

Jacques Whitford (Toronto) was awarded an International Year of Volunteers 2001 Canada Certificate of Environmental Stewardship for participation in Pitch-In Week, and commitment to the environment with the Clean-Up Day event.

Jacques Whitford (Portsmouth) was awarded the 2000 John S. Balaguer Environmental Excellence Award from Verizon (presented in May 2001). The award was in recognition of Jacques Whitford's selection, design, and implementation of an innovative remediation technology that produced dramatically better results than were expected through traditional methods. The Balaguer Award is a competitive award judged by Verizon and non-Verizon professionals, and requires nomination by a Verizon manager.

Jacques Whitford received a Nova Scotia Export Achievement Award sponsored by the Alliance of Manufacturers & Exporters Canada (NS Division) and Nova Scotia Economic Development. This award was in recognition of the remediation project involving 100,000 tonnes of petroleum-contaminated sludge in the Sungai Bera River area of Brunei. Jacques Whitford and its partners won the contract over several international organizations. A team of dedicated engineers will remain in Brunei for the duration of the project.
