Jacques Whitford Acquires NAWE and EcoCheck
Jacques Whitford, an internationally recognized leader in environmental sciences and engineering, announced today the acquisition of U.S.-based North American Wetland Engineering, LLC (NAWE) and EcoCheck, Inc. By joining forces with Jacques Whitford, NAWE’s advanced technologies and EcoCheck’s operational capabilities will now be available to a broader client base.
“It is very exciting to have NAWE and EcoCheck join the Jacques Whitford family,” says Bob Youden, Chief Executive Officer of Jacques Whitford. “Not only are we expanding our core services by incorporating their cutting-edge technology in engineered wetlands, but we are also furthering our commitment to sustainable initiatives and the environment.”
An award-winning ecological engineering company, NAWE’s innovations in wetland technology provide high performance and low cost solutions for their clients. In 2002, NAWE established EcoCheck to fill a critical need for quality infrastructure management of their wastewater systems. Engineered wetlands greatly advance the treatment capacity of wetland treatment systems and provide a simple, low cost alternative to challenging wastewater and water management problems. Included in a long list of accomplishments, NAWE’s team of experts developed the first insulated engineered wetland solution proven capable of operating year-round in cold weather climates.
Founded in 1997 by Curtis Sparks and Scott Wallace, NAWE has been involved in over 250 projects throughout the world. The team of 25 professionals has authored a number of United States patents, including several on Forced Bed Aeration™ wetland treatment reactors. This technology will now be available to current and future clients of Jacques Whitford.
“Making the decision to join the Jacques Whitford team was an easy one,” says Curtis J. Sparks, NAWE President. “By combining NAWE’s technology with Jacques Whitford’s broad reach and services, we are furthering our shared vision of creating sustainable infrastructure, providing exceptional service and solving real problems using ecological technologies.”
Over the last 35 years, Jacques Whitford has been providing the best solutions for their clients and the best people for the job. By continuing to expand, the company is able to provide the most innovative skills, expertise and technology in the industry to meet client needs.
“We have been working with NAWE’s team of experts for a number of years,” says John Hooker, Jacques Whitford President of U.S. Operations. “Our teams work extremely well together, making the union of the firms a natural progression.”
