"After starting my career with a small local firm in Montreal, I was given the opportunity to join the JW team in the summer of 2002. At first, the prospect of changing from one consulting firm to another was risky and not necessarily appealing. After discussions with managers in the Montreal office and after talking to JW employees in Montreal and Toronto, I decided to take the opportunity and join Jacques. Over six years later, I consider it to be the best career decision that I have made to date.

I joined a young and dynamic team in Montreal. I was hired as a project manager to service clients in the Real Estate Sector. With my background in environmental sciences and civil engineering technology, I was a fit for the office in developing its real estate team and the services that it could provide to the local market. I received support not only from the local team, but also from all levels in the organization. Working with colleagues from across the region and across the company, I had the tools necessary to build a team from the ground up. Six years and 9 team members later, I can truly say that my first objective when coming onboard to build a solid team to service the real estate market has been attained. Along the way, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with truly great people, and I have been continually challenged to further develop the team, not only locally but also actively in the larger JW family. I have had the opportunity to develop not only technically, but also in to a management role with support from JW with programs such as Group Leader training and the Queen’s Executive Development Series. Jacques Whitford has provided a work environment that is motivating and rewarding. Finding the right work-life balance is key to being motivated, but this balance is not easily attained. JW policies, incentives and benefits have made finding this balance possible, where I can focus both on my career and personal life.

As I look ahead, I look towards continuing to build relationships with colleagues and clients in our continually evolving workplace. There is no lack of opportunity at Jacques Whitford, and that is key in keeping my vision of JW as a great place to work."
