Another Family-Friendly Year for Jacques Whitford

Close on the heels of their recent recognition as a Top 100 employer in Canada by Maclean’s magazine for the third consecutive year, Jacques Whitford has once again been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 20 Family-friendly employers by Today’s Parent magazine.

Organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers, the Today's Parent Top 20 list recognizes those employers offering Canada’s most progressive and forward-thinking benefits and programs. Those on the list are considered leaders in helping employees balance their work and family commitments.

When Jacques Whitford received the award last year, Regan LeClair, an employee with the company’s Fredericton office had this to say in a published letter to Today’s Parent, “I was excited to see that my company, Jacques Whitford Ltd., was named as one of the Top 10 Family-Friendly Employers in Canada – it’s well deserved. I want to add how proud I am, as a parent, to work for a company that takes a strong position on carbon neutrality and sustainability.”

Jacques Whitford is the only environmental consulting firm that made the cut for 2009. They are recognized for industry leading benefits such as topped-up parental leave, tuition subsidies for employees and scholarship programs for children of employees. Jacques Whitford also offers an annual fitness subsidy which can be used towards the purchase of anything from fitness equipment to gym memberships. Over 90% of employees take advantage of the program each year.

2009 marks the third consecutive year that Jacques Whitford has been recognized as a top family-friendly employer by Today’s Parent magazine. The company also received recognition as one of the Best Places to Work in the Atlantic Region by Progress magazine in 2008, one of Nova Scotia’s Top Employers in 2009 by the Chronicle Herald as well as one of the Top 100 Employers in Canada by Maclean’s magazine for the last three years.
